Did you know that veterans own almost one out of ten small businesses in America?
Maybe yours is one of them.
Veteran business owners employ almost six million workers in the U.S. These companies generate over 1.5 trillion dollars in receipts each year!
National Veterans Small Business Week
In recognition of veterans’ contributions to small business, the Small Business Administration has declared November 3 – 7, 2014 the first annual National Veterans Small Business Week. Over 250,000 service members transition from the military each year, and the SBA wants to ensure that they have access to the capital, counseling and contracting needed to start and grow successful businesses.

VetCap, a series of workshops to train veteran entrepreneurs to raise capital for their businesses, is continuing to grow. VetCap (capital for veterans) began as a workshop co-sponsored by Joining Forces and the Office of Science and Technology, supported by the National Economic Council.
Share Your Story
The SBA has created the hashtag #MyVetBiz to encourage veteran business owners to share their stories.
It’s Veterans Day. Thank a veteran for your freedom.
But don’t thank them today.
Do it every day.
